This research entailed a systems-based analysis of the design team as a temporary management structure and the subsequent impact this has on client satisfaction. Kathy spent 2001-2002 gaining international experience in teaching and undertaking research at the University of New South Wales in Australia. She recently completed her PhD on community-based facilities management and its role in leveraging social and local economic development in previously disadvantaged communities. Kathy is a professionally registered quantity surveyor with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession.
